Dementia pills on rise

THE number of pills handed out to dementia patients has risen by ten per cent over the past year.

The spiralling figures have cost NHS Lothian an extra 200,000.

However, the health board and local charities pointed out that these were drugs proven to improve a patient's quality of life.
