Police Scotland are hosting an online recruitment event to try and encourage more women to join the force across the country.

The event aimed at women will take place this Wednesday, April 9 from 6.30pm over Microsoft teams and aims to tackle under-representation of women in the police.

It will focus on providing members of the public an insight into the role of a police officer and a special constable within Police Scotland.

Police Scotland said the event will last for around an hour and a half and members of the public will learn about the recruitment process, the training involved and the opportunities on offer.

In a post addressing women, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Women are currently under-represented in the Police and it is hoped this event will inspire you to consider a career in policing.”
