Deena shows that classics can rock too

EMMERDALE star Deena Payne took a break from rural life this week to accompany husband Steve Grant to the Capital to promote their Fringe show Barockestra.

The show, which features rock interpretations of familiar classical pieces such as the Flight of the Bumble Bee to the delicate beauty of Swan Lake is the brainchild of Grant, keyboardist and guitarist with The Sweet.

Designed and choreographed by Payne, best known for the past 17 years as Emmerdale postmistress Viv Hope, Barockestra will be running at the New Town Theatre, George Street, from 5-29 August.
