Death inquiry continues

A FORENSICS team were last night investigating the suspicious death of a man discovered in one of Edinburgh's most affluent areas.

The man, who was in his 60s, was found in his flat following reports of a gas leak in the early hours of Saturday.

Almost two days later police were still trying to work out how the man, who is believed to have worked as an actuary at an Edinburgh firm, had died. Police said that his body showed signs of injury.

The man's body was discovered by police in the hallway of a flat in the Merchiston area of Edinburgh, which is also home to writers JK Rowling and Ian Rankin.
