Death of child in farm accident

A CHILD has died in an accident on a farm.

The accident happened in Symington, South Ayrshire yesterday afternoon.

A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman called the death “tragic”, but said they were not yet releasing details about the child or the circumstances surrounding the death.

They were last night still in the process of telling the family about the accident.

Police were still at the scene last night.

A spokeswoman said: “Around 2:55pm, we were notified of a tragic accident which occured on a farm in the Symington area, which has resulted in the death of a child. Police are currently at the scene, and further details will be released once they have been established and family informed.”
