Deals plough £75m into city

MORE than £75 million of investment took place in Edinburgh in three months, new figures have shown.

A new city council report has revealed that 75.07m of new private sector investment was secured in the three months to the end of August.

The series of projects included the new Primark store and a new hotel on Princes Street, a 220-bed hotel off Leith Walk and the sale of land at Harbour Road in Granton.

Council economic officials say they helped to support around half of the value of the deals.
