Dealer's £67,000 seized

A DRUG dealer faces being stripped of £67,000 after being sentenced to three years in prison.

Maraz Hussain, 46, was handed a confiscation order for money police and prosecutors believe he made from crime.

Hussain had previously been convicted of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, and was sentenced in 2009.

Anne Currie, area procurator fiscal for Grampian, said: "Drug dealers have a corrosive effect on our young people and our communities.

"Not only will we prosecute offenders to the full extent of the law, we will seek to confiscate any proceeds from their criminal activities and lifestyles.

"We will continue to work with police and other agencies to disrupt their activities, prevent them reinvesting their profits, and use all of the powers at our disposal, to make it very difficult for them to carry out their criminal enterprises."
