Dealer caught out by tip-off

A DEALER who claimed he was selling a "legal high" was brought down to earth when police found his powder was actually a banned substance.

Darren Clements, 40, had been told by his supplier that it was OK to sell Benzylpiperazine. But when police officers acting on a tip-off analysed the four bags of the class C drug worth 80 they told him it was definitely illegal.

Clements, of Livingston, West Lothian, was sentenced to 200 hours' community service.
