Deadline for youth parly

THE deadline for candidates to stand in Edinburgh's Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) elections has been extended to January 21.

The youth parliament is looking for people aged between 14 and 25 to stand in the March elections. The role of an MSYP includes taking part in youth forums, consulting with young people to find out what is important to them and taking part in debates at the SYP.

MSYPs are also expected to play a role in campaigning and deciding what the parliament should work for in order to improve things for the young people in Scotland.
