Deadline for pay appeals

COUNCIL workers in Edinburgh have been warned that they only have until the start of next week to appeal against the pay they are getting following the recent shake-up.

Trade union Unison initially set a deadline of December 17 for members to submit appeals, but that was extended to Monday. Union leaders say they may withdraw from the appeals process if it appears to be only "a paper exercise".
