Dead man's family appeal

POLICE have appealed for help in tracing any relatives of a pensioner who was found dead in his home.

John Smith, 83, who had lived alone at the address in Loaning Road, Restalrig since 2002, was found dead on Monday.

Mr Smith, who was known as Jack, was last seen alive last Wednesday. Police believe that he may have links to Liverpool.

There are no suspicious circumstances, and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.

A police spokesman said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have known Mr Smith, or his relatives, to contact us as soon as possible."
