Dead by Dawn film festival promises to be a scream

A DOCUMENTARY about urban myths and a black comedy are among the highlights of this year's one-day horror film festival Dead by Dawn.

The programme for the UnHallowe'en Special version of Scotland's international horror film festival has now been launched, ahead of the event on Saturday, October 9.

Screenings include Australian comedy The Director's Cut, documentary Cropsey and thriller 5150, Rue des Ormes, as well as two short programmes.

Adele Hartley, Dead by Dawn festival director, said: "Horror Films with Happy(ish) Endings is a collection of some of the most beautiful, elegant and romantic short films I've ever had the pleasure to screen.

"Danse Macabre, in particular, is an exquisitely choreographed ballet which makes the early moments of death seem entirely languid, beautiful and devoid of fear."

All-inclusive passes priced 30, and individual tickets at Filmhouse prices, on sale now.
