Dead body found on Silverknowes beach

Her death is being treated as non-suspicious but police are appealing for witnesses.

A spokeswoman said: “Police in Edinburgh are investigating following the discovery of a woman’s body on Silverknowes beach.

“The body was discovered today at around 6.30am. Enquiries are ongoing, however the death is currently being treated as non-suspicious. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

“Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Police Scotland immediately on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
