Dawe praises winter work

CITY leader Jenny Dawe has paid tribute to the council staff who helped fight the bad weather to ensure that the Capital's Christmas and Hogmanay events went ahead.

In her monthly leader's report, Councillor Dawe said: "Despite the worst December on record, the winter weather failed to detract from the planning and delivery of Edinburgh's Christmas and Edinburgh's Hogmanay.

"This is in no small way due to the council team effort which includes officers from the events unit, road services, parks, licensing, waste management and public safety teams."
