'Dark side of moon' road fixed

REPAIRS being carried out to fix a road labelled "the dark side of the moon" because it had so many potholes have been completed ahead of schedule.

A half-mile stretch of the B800 into Kirkliston closed at the start of the month after the recent cold snap led to an increase in the number of defects.

The work had been expected to take up to six weeks, but has now been completed.

Councillor Robert Aldridge, the city's roads leader, said: "This was an urgent piece of work to repair an important link and I am delighted it was completed well ahead of schedule. I would like to thank the local transport companies for their co-operation and the people of Kirkliston for their patience."
