Dancers flock to festival

MORE than 420 dancers from across the world have been getting into a spin for the 59th International Festival of Dancing and Arts which concluded yesterday.

The spectacle, at Musselburgh Sports Centre, invites dancers from as young as four to adults to compete for trophies in different age groups.

Organisers have welcomed entries from Canada, the United States, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia and for the first time Russia.

Event organiser Frances Paterson said: "We are absolutely delighted to have so many young talented dancers here today from across Scotland and the rest of world, especially our Russian competitors who have came to Scotland for this event for the first time."
