Dance offer at sharp end

Adventurous dancers in the Capital are invited to attend a free sword dance workshop.

The lesson in rapper dance - a fast, traditional English dance - will be on offer this Friday at Tollcross Community Centre from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

In rapper dance, five people are connected by sprung steel wheels and they weave in and out of one another, twisting the swords to form shapes such as breastplates.

Mons Meg, Edinburgh's rapper sword dance team who can be seen in as many as eight pubs in an evening, are looking for dancers and musicians.
