Cyclist seriously injured after Leith Walk fall

A CYCLIST is being treated in hospital after falling off his bike just off Leith Walk during rush hour.

The 25-year-old man was hurt on Haddington Place at its junction with Annandale Street around 8.45am.

It’s understood no cars were involved in the incident and the road reopened around 11am.

Sergeant Jerry Ross of Police Scotland said: “A 25-year-old cyclist is in a serious condition after coming off his bike on a busy thoroughfare in Edinburgh.

“The incident happened on Haddington Place at its junction with Annandale Street around 8:45am on Tuesday, October 20.

Paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service were called to the scene and transferred the man to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he is currently receiving treatment.

“Our investigation is ongoing in order to establish the full set of circumstances and I ask anyone who saw this incident to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
