Cyclist joins Munro race

CAPITAL-based stunt cyclist Danny MacAskill will be among a select number of cyclists to be taken by helicopter today to the 3635ft summit of a Scottish Munro before racing downhill.

Organisers expect 120 riders to race down the side of Meall a' Bhuiridh in Glencoe

Called McAvalanche, the event is based on Mega Avalanche downhill cycle races that have been held in the Alps.

MacAskill shot to fame through his 2009 YouTube video. The five-minute clip showed him cycling up and down trees, along railings and jumping off roofs.
