Cyclist dies after collision with bin lorry

A CYCLIST has died after a collision with a council bin lorry.

The man, who was 32, was knocked from his bike at the junction of Broughton Road and East Claremont Street, close to Broughton primary school, at around 7.50am. Police are calling for witnesses to come forward and accident investigators are at the scene. The junction is currently closed.

Meanwhile an eight-year-old boy has been taken to the ERI with a suspected broken leg after a collision with a motorcycle in Gorgie Road this morning.

The accident occurred outside Poundstretcher at around 8.45am.
