Cyclist back in German home

A CYCLIST who pedalled from Edinburgh all the way to his German hometown completed his mission by Christmas Eve, he has confirmed.

Markus Stitz, 31, launched his ambitious attempt earlier this month.

Despite horrendous conditions, he made to the Thuringia region in time for festive celebrations, raising money for charity in the process.

He said: "I arrived at 3pm on Christmas Eve, so the timing was perfect. The weather was really bad."
