Cut proposals still to come

THE head of the city council's finance department has hinted that officials are still set to present new cuts proposals before next month's budget.

Councillors will meet on February 10 to set the 2010/11 budget, including deciding whether to accept two packages already presented.

During a meeting Councillor Andrew Burns, leader of the Labour group, asked whether a "package 4 or package 3b" would be presented.

Donald McGougan, the council's director of finance, said: "I'd never say never."
