Curtain falls after panto's fairytale run

AFTER a record-breaking 83 performances, the cast of the Brunton Theatre's production of Mother Goose will today hang up their costumes and put away their grease paints for another year.

The pantomime, which opened in November at the Musselburgh venue, took to the road for the first time in the theatre's history earlier his month so as not to disappoint school audiences who had been prevented from attending due to the snow.

Arron Usher, who plays Muddles, said: "It's been exhausting but an absolute blast. It's difficult to believe that we started before anyone other professional panto in the UK and, I've been told, we are still going after the rest have finished."
