Cronin up on fraud charge

NOTORIOUS sex offender John Cronin has appeared in court in Leeds on fraud charges.

The 39-year-old from Tranent, East Lothian, who was jailed for life in 1992 for a sex attack on a Tory activist, was arrested on Saturday and appeared before magistrates yesterday charged with three counts of fraud. He was freed on bail until later this year.
