AN AUTHOR who wrote a book called The Art Of Armed Robbery was part of a gang which stole thousands of pounds in attacks on guards delivering money to cash machines, Chelmsford Crown Court was told yesterday.

Terry Smith, 50, of Canvey Island, Essex, and his brother Len, 52, of Dagenham, Essex, are accused of six robberies.
