Crews urge swim safety

FIREFIGHTERS will be joining the Coastguard at Musselburgh Lagoons tomorrow to warn members of the public about the risks of swimming outdoors.

Fire crews will be practising their water-rescue skills and demonstrating water safety issues to members of the public following two recent deaths in Scotland caused by water.

Community firefighter David Norris said: "All areas of open water pose some form of danger to the people using it."

The exercise takes place between 10:30am and 12:30am.
