Crew justify award glory

A LOCAL lifeboat crew performed a whirlwind rescue on a stricken vessel one hour before attending an awards ceremony for a previous feat of heroism.

Dunbar RNLI volunteers towed a broken down fishing boat east of the Bass Rock back to shore on Friday afternoon and then dashed to get ready for receive their bravery gongs.

Station mechanic Kenny Peters along with volunteers Brian Cleator, Stuart Pirrie, Kevin Keillor and John Watt were due to receive inscribed vellums.
