Creating a buzz around bee project

A CAMPAIGN to "bee friendly" has been launched by Dobbies Garden Centres.

Bee-friendly products and plants, including lavender bushes, shrubs and fruit trees are available free to Edinburgh community groups, projects, schools and charities that would like to encourage bees into their garden, allotment or even window boxes.

Community champion Dawn Gibson said: "Bees are important to our environment and help our gardens to grow.

"By planting the right type of plants and trees we provide a feast for honey bees and other insects, habitats for wildlife and the pollination provides food for us.

"So whether you're a school, community organisation, local charity, hospital or care centre looking to help preserve the future of bees in your garden, window box or community allotment, we want to hear from you."
