CPS defends warning over pencil assault

THE Crown Prosecution Service yesterday backed its decision to give a formal warning to a ten-year-old boy who stabbed a teacher in the chest with a pencil.

The teacher needed hospital treatment after the attack, in the Blackpool area. The boy had kicked a female teacher in the same incident.
