Couple saved from blaze

FIREFIGHTERS rescued an elderly couple from a building in East Calder.

The blaze occurred at Langton View at 8.21am and appliances raced to the scene.

A 83-year old man and 82-year old woman were rescued from the property and taken to St John’s Hospital in Livingston suffering from slight burns and smoke inhalation.
