Couple arrested over heroin haul

A MAN and a woman have been arrested following the seizure of heroin with a street value of more than £100,000.

The discovery was made after police officers searched a vehicle on the outskirts of Perth on Friday afternoon.

A Liverpool couple, a 24-year-old man and 21-year-old woman, are expected to appear at Perth Sheriff Court tomorrow. Detective Inspector Stuart Holmes, head of the Tayside Police Drugs Branch, yesterday said: "Communities throughout Tayside regularly raise concerns regarding drugs and drug dealing and its associated problems.

"I hope that this seizure and arrests go some way into reassuring them that we are determined to do all that we can to stop it."
