Counsellors bid launched

A CAMPAIGN to place a counsellor in every Lothians school is to be officially launched at the Scottish Parliament.

The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) wants the Scottish Government to mirror a project in Wales to reduce rates of bullying and emotional anxiety in youngsters.

The Evening News revealed last month that ministers would listen to the idea, though critics have said that the move would be "overkill", and teachers were perfectly able to deal with pupils' woes.
