Councillor backs PO bid

A LOTHIANS councillor has backed a campaign to secure more government work for post offices.

Post Office Ltd is currently bidding for a new ten-year DVLA contract that would help to secure the future of local post offices. It is supported by the by the National Federation of Sub Postmasters.

Councillor Stuart Currie, of East Lothian Council, agreed a range of government services should be provided by the Post Office, adding: “It is frankly ludicrous that in Wallyford we have a major car dealership that cannot obtain car tax disks locally.”
