Council firm makes a loss

THE council-backed company that operates Edinburgh Park has suffered a loss for a second successive year.

New Edinburgh Limited, a joint venture between the city council and development firm Miller, posted a 403,490 loss after tax in the 2009 calendar year.

It follows on from a 1.9 million loss in 2008. During the year, the company brought in 1 million from rents received and the sale of land, but the cost of these sales was 1.16m.
