Corrections and clarifications

IN an article this week on the protest outside Torness Nuclear Power Station, we incorrectly quoted Janet Fenton, the co-ordinator of the Edinburgh Peace and Justice Centre, as calling for the Scottish Government's nuclear policy to be abandoned.

In fact, she and the others who are taking part in Scotland's Peace Walk are clearly in favour of the Scottish Government's position, which is total opposition to nuclear activity in Scotland. The group is keen to highlight that there could be 28,000 jobs in Scotland created by developing renewables as opposed to 400 jobs currently associated with nuclear power.

We apologise for the error and any embarrassment caused.
