Correction

In our article headlined "MPs claim £26,500 a day in expenses" published on 3 December we incorrectly reported that Conservative MP Andrew Griffiths claimed £1.52 for a doner kebab as part of his late night sitting allowance.

Instead he claimed 1.52 for travelling to a doner kebab factory in his constituency . The Scotsman apologises for the mistake and is happy to set the record straight.
