Confidence in Angela Merkel is eroding

THREE quarters of Germans have little or no faith in chancellor Angela Merkel's leadership in the euro debt crisis.

Some 55 per cent said they were not very confident in her and 20 per cent said they had no confidence at all while 20 per cent back her.
