Concert for returned troops

The return of soldiers from The Royal Scots Borderers (1 Scots) from a tour of duty in Afghanistan is to be celebrated with a homecoming concert at the Queen's Hall.

The troops from 1 Scots, based at Dreghorn barracks, spent six months training up the Afghan army in Helmand province.

The event will feature the Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland & Pipes and Drums of The Royal Regiment of Scotland. The band plays at all ceremonial occasions in Scotland, including royal garden parties, state banquets and guards of honour at Holyrood Palace. It is also a regular performer at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
