Commuters saddle up on way to work

THE number of people commuting to work by bike in the Capital is continuing to rise, according to a new survey.

Cycling pressure group Spokes carried out a survey on 11 May, finding that cyclists accounted for 14.7 per cent of all traffic between 8am and 9am, compared to 14.4 per cent during the same time last year.

The group said the number of private cars on the roads had fallen "substantially", but did not provide figures.
