A LUXURY spa is set to be opened at Hotel Missoni in the autumn.

The spa, which is due to open in October, will include two treatment rooms and a chill-out zone.

It will offer skin, body and beauty treatments for male and female visitors.

Pub and fishmongers are in line for cash prize

A CITY pub and a fishmongers are in line to win business grants after being nominated as "best local gems" by visitors to the Capital.

The Canny Man's bar in Morningside Road and JR Gowans Fishmongers in Marchmont Crescent were both named as favourites by holidaymakers.

The competition is being run by an online holiday letting agency, and four of the nominated businesses will win a cash grant to help develop their enterprise.

Boots staff complete trip

SEVEN workers from chemist chain Boots cycled into Edinburgh last week at the end of their 132-mile cycling challenge from Belfast.

The challenge aimed to celebrate the new three-year partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and raise money to improve the lives of people affected by cancer in the UK.

LOTHIAN Buses is set to welcome the public to its Annandale Street depot as part of Edinburgh's Doors Open Day.

On September 25 visitors will be able to sit at the wheel of a modern bus, explore the first public bus bought in 1957 to replace the original trams or see the Capital's largest car wash in action.

Work starts on revamp of popular bar

WORK has started on a major revamp of a popular Fountainbridge bar.

Due to be completed next month, Hyde Out's new look will feature a new Timorous Beasties Edinburgh Toile vinyl wall covering, as well as a bespoke chandelier made out of 600 crystal cut glasses.

Rory McWhirter, a director of the company that owns the bar, said: "Some of the features are a bit out there, but that is exactly what we wanted, a design like no other for a bar like no other."
