Comic cuts as TV's Kirstie and Phil are stumped by Beano's Lord Snooty

PROPERTY experts Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer met their match when they tried to find a home for the Beano's resident snob, Lord Snooty III.

The duo, who front Channel 4's Location Location Location house-hunting series are sent on a wild goose chase trying to find the ideal home for him.

They come up with a mock-Tudor cottage with a thatched roof, a 50 million futuristic, carbon-neutral and self-sufficient home capable of surviving a third world war, and a posh palace – but he turns them all down.

And they are left tearing their hair out when he finds his own ideal home – a haunted castle in the shape of a skull owned by Lord Spooky.

Beano scriptwriter John Anderson said: "Lord Snooty III is looking for a new house, and who better to help him than TV's Kirstie and Phil. He's a billionaire so money is no object.

"We all watch Kirstie and Phil's programmes, so it was great fun to do.

We sometimes feature celebrities in the Beano, and they are generally delighted to appear. We're never mean-spirited, and I think Kirstie and Phil will enjoy it. Kirstie, in particular, looks very flattering, I think."

Lord Snooty III is the grandson of the original, much-loved Lord Snooty – who first appeared in the Beano in July 1938 – and has inherited his fortune.
