Comfy library zone created for toddlers

A LIBRARY in the Capital has opened a new section.

Portobello Library has created Cuddlebook Corner, a multi-use zone featuring bright and comfortable furniture and a specially-created logo encouraging people to relax.

The new area was launched recently at a singing and rhyming session for toddlers under the age of three. It will provide a base for events like Bookbug Sessions, the free rhyme and song sessions for toddlers that are provided at libraries throughout the city.

Similar spaces to the Cuddlebook Corner are set to be unveiled at a series of libraries across the city, including Craigmillar, Morningside and Drumbrae, over the next 12 months.

A series of events is also planned for children during the school holidays, including the Circus Stars Reading Challenge, which includes events in all 26 of Edinburgh's council-owned libraries.
