College joins Open Uni to offer courses

A NEW partnership has been formed between Telford College in Edinburgh and the Open University to give local people access to a whole range of new courses and subjects.

The partnership agreement links up Telford's higher education qualifications to the Open University's extensive range of courses and degrees.

Anyone studying HNC, HND or a range of other courses at the college will be able to count credit points from their studies towards an Open University degree.

This will help them to build on the knowledge and skills they've already gained, and in many cases to reduce the length of time it takes to get a degree.

Associate principal of equalities and collaboration at the college, Barbara Lawson, said: "In the current climate when places for study at university are under severe pressure, this agreement with our college and the Open University simply could not come at a better time.

"Open University study also provides the chance for individuals to study whilst working and at times that suit them."
