College gets creative to woo pupils

SCHOOL leavers interested in creative industries have been given an insight into courses on offer at West Lothian College.

The college's creative centre threw its doors open to pupils from local secondary schools, with some of them so impressed that they signed up.

The pupils were given taster sessions in eight different subject areas including events, photography and media.

Margaret Forisky, the college and schools development officer, said: "The aim of the open day was to give secondary school pupils the opportunity to see the many avenues available to them through one of our creative centre courses.

"We had an overwhelming response, with pupils particularly impressed by the range of articulation routes to universities, as well as the varied curriculum available at the college.

"The taster sessions proved particularly popular, with pupils leaving more informed about West Lothian College."
