College gears up to mark diversity day

A DAY of events to celebrate diversity and equality will be held at Telford College tomorrow.

Representatives from Edinburgh and Lothian Regions Race Equalities Council, Lothian and Borders Police, Muslim women's group Beyond the Veil and the Community for Race Equality will all attend to help raise awareness of the college's diverse community.

The day will close with a showing of the film Rock Against Racism.

The event will also be collecting money in aid of the Haiti appeal.

Barbara Lawson, associate principal of equalities and collaboration at the college, said: "Edinburgh's Telford College has a strong commitment to welcoming all diversities of cultures."
