College for Celtic events

NEWBATTLE Abbey College has announced it will host its second Celtic Festival in May.

The college aims to build on the success of last year's event, which attracted more than 3000 visitors.

The event includes traditional music and dance, woodland trails, and arts and crafts. There will also be taster sessions, including horticulture, beekeeping and local history.

Principal of Newbattle Abbey College, Ann Southwood, said: "The event forms part of a major project, involving local and national partners, which will build upon Newbattle's already established cultural heritage and intention to position ourselves as a centre of Celtic culture for people of all ages and backgrounds."

This year's event will take place on May 21, from 11am to 5pm.
