College aims to cut down on emissions

WEST Lothian College has launched a new carbon management plan.

The plan aims to reduce the college's CO2 emissions by 20 per cent by 2014.

Having already signed up to the Carbon Lite programme in a bid to reduce its CO2 emissions, this is the latest step in West Lothian College's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions as much as possible.

Principal Mhairi Laughlin said: "West Lothian College recognises the scale and speed of climate change and acknowledges the many challenges and opportunities we will face in order to ensure we are a low carbon campus.

"By engaging in the carbon management programme and with college-wide participation, we will reduce our overall carbon emissions, thereby ensuring the sustainability of West Lothian College."
