Clubber beats up 'pass' man

A CLUBBER carried out a vicious attack on a man because he thought he had made a pass at him, a court has heard.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard Stephen De Veres, 23, was in Royal Terrace on his way home when he thought he recognised the man who had earlier tried to touch his bottom.

Fiscal depute Melanie Ward said De Veres shouted homophobic abuse at Tony Singh then punched and kicked him.

De Veres, of Edinburgh Prison, admitted carrying out the attack on July 23 this year.

Sentence was deferred until next month.
