Club to help firms expand

A NEW networking club that will help businesses expand is to be launched in the Capital.

The Edinburgh Business Growth Club, set up by the city council to help firms that struggle to expand in the early stages of their development, will hold its first meeting tomorrow.

It will be established as a regular monthly networking club that will encourage businesses to share ideas with their peers.

It will also introduce businesses to members of the financial sector that can provide funding to help them grow.

Councillor Tom Buchanan, the city's economic development leader, said many companies get funding from Business Gateway to help them start up but find it difficult to secure help in allowing them to grow.
