Clothes show looks good to raise cash

A FASHION show taking place in Edinburgh later this month could raise nearly £25,000 for a cancer hospice.

The annual Marie Curie Cancer Care event will take place at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Lothian Road.

New clothes from a top designer will be on show, while tickets include a two-course lunch and drinks reception.

Raffle tickets are also expected to help organisers hit the 24,000 target.

The cash will go to the charity's hospice in Fairmilehead, which helps more than 2000 terminally ill patients every year.

Community fundraising manager Fiona Bushby said: "Our annual fashion show is a popular event and a great opportunity to raise funds for Marie Curie while enjoying the company of friends over lunch and viewing some beautiful new fashions.

"Tickets are still available and we want to see as many supporters as possible help us reach our fundraising targets."

Clothes exhibited have been designed by UK designer Beatrice von Tresckow, who said it was "an honour" to be selected as the show's designer.

The much-loved hospice costs 10,000 a day to run.
